The Athletic Therapist is responsible for the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for student-athletes. The role involves implementing evidence-based care and concussion protocols while collaborating with an interdisciplinary health and athletics team.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in athletic therapy or a related field and be certified through the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association. At least three years of experience working with competitive athletes and current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications are required.
Bachelor's degree in athletic therapy, Kinesiology, or a related field; Certification through the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association; Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification; Three years experience working with competitive athletes (university or elite level preferred); Strong knowledge of sport specific injuries and rehabilitation techniques; Excellent assessment and clinical decision-making skills; Strong interpersonal and communication abilities; High level of professionalism and confidentiality; Working Conditions: Combination of clinic, gymnasium, and field environments; Ability to work irregular hours, evenings, weekends, and some travel for competition is required.
