  • Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA) Job Duties Job Duties The Student Health Nurse is organizationally accountable to the Director, Counselling Accessibility and Health Services, in the division of Student Services at Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
  • This position is clinically accountable to the Medical Health Officer (Public Health and Preventative Medicine Specialist), consultant for Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
  • This position is further accountable to, and governed by medical regulatory and licensing bodies, including the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS); the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA); and the Ministry of Health in the province of Saskatchewan.
  • The Student Health Nurse is required to make quick, critical decisions regarding the health care and safety of Saskatchewan Polytechnic students, and, in emergencies, Saskatchewan Polytechnic staff/employees.
  • The primary responsibility of this role is to independently immunize and complete turberculin skin tests for a large volume of students entering the health care profession.
  • Provide health education and counseling on health issues and refer to appropriate resources as needed.
  • Initiate and deliver health education and wellness.
