<p><strong>Stz’uminus Education Society</strong></p><p>We provide learning opportunities for all ages, from infancy through to elder years, through our dynamic and integrated programs: Nutsuumat Lelum, Stz’uminus Primary School, Stz’uminus Community School, Post-Secondary & Continuing Education, Land-based Learning, Year 13/adults, Career Planning and job readiness</p><p><strong>Position summary</strong></p><p>SES is looking for Teachers on call to work with us on our JK – 12 programs, building relationships with students, families and staff in our community.</p><p><strong>The position</strong></p><ul><li>You step in to support our students when their teacher is unavailable, whether for just a block or an extended leave· </li><li>You support students learning with innovative and unconventional learning opportunities, prioritizing land-based learning and integration of Stz’uminus & Coast Salish teachings</li><li>You continuously develop relationships with your peer educator’s administration, students, families, partners & Community members</li><li>You collaborate with educators throughout SES to enhance and lead explorations, projects, units and lessons</li><li>You participate with dedication in all aspects of our school community including professional development</li><li>You conduct & contribute to assessments of and learning, as well as metric and reporting requirements.</li></ul><p><strong> What you bring</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor of Education</li><li>You are a dedicated educator & lifelong learner who leads with relationship and respect</li><li>You are confident with behaviour management and able to care for yourself and others in challenging situations</li><li>You appreciate the variety of relationships and learning opportunities which teaching on call provides</li><li>You recognize that the most impactful learning can happen outside of a conventional classroom</li><li>You are a collaborative team player who respects and values what each member of the community contributes to education</li><li>You are dedicated to incorporating our indigenous Coast Salish culture, hul’q’umi’num language and stz’uminus ways of knowing in your teaching and personal learning journey</li><li>You are qualified in current good standing with the BC Teacher regulation Branch, or are immediately eligible for clearance of a criminal record check for working with children and vulnerable persons</li><li>You are passionate about supporting indigenous students to expand their learning.</li></ul><p> <br></br></p><p><strong> </strong><b><i>To explore how we might work together, </i></b><i>we invite your application via <strong>careers@stzuminus.com. </strong></i></p><p><b><i>Open until filled </i></b><em> (only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview)</em></p><p> <br></br></p><p><em> </em></p><p> <br></br></p><p> </p><p> <br></br></p>
