Quick overview

  • Ensure the well-being of all children and support educational program delivery under the direction of the Manager of Childcare Services.
  • Develop, implement, and lead programs and activities for children.
  • Provide quality care by guiding, encouraging, and supervising children indoors and outdoors while ensuring safety and well-being.
  • Ensure operational policies are established and followed in accordance with the Provincial Child Care Licensing Board and Community Care Facility Act.
  • Plan, carry out, and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences aligned with the center’s philosophy.
  • Support children’s behavior guidance that encourages positive self-concept.
  • Stay up to date with early childhood education and advocacy developments.
  • Assist with housekeeping duties to keep facilities and equipment neat, safe, and clean/sanitized.
  • Perform other related duties as requested

Requirements summary

  • Early Childhood Educator certification with an infant and toddler specialization.
  • Possession of a valid Early Childhood Educator license or willingness to obtain.
  • Understanding of Lil’wat culture & language (asset).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Highly professional in interactions with stakeholders, clients, and members.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information related to children, parents, and staff.

  • Previous experience is an asset (including case management, social work/social welfare, family studies, infant mental health, early childhood development, and/or special education)
