  • Post End Date: July 13, 2026 at 11:59 PM This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) RECL 3Q92 – Therapeutic Recreation and Behavioural Health Synchronous Lecture: Wednesday 1900-2200 Compensation Effective September 1, 2026 - $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) Effective September 1, 2026 - $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally) Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.
  • Duties Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement.
  • These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).
  • Qualifications 1.
  • A Master’s degree or PhD in Recreation and Leisure Studies with an emphasis in therapeutic recreation.
  • 2.
  • At least two years of work experience delivering therapeutic recreation services to clients with a focus on mental health, addiction recovery and/or other behavioural health issues.
  • 3.
  • Demonstrated therapeutic recreation program development and management experience.
  • 4.
  • Current certification as a CTRS through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification is considered an asset.
  • 5.
  • Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the university level.
