Facilitate programs for children ages 0–6 with parent/caregiver participation.
Develop and deliver programming aligned with How Does Learning Happen.
Deliver parent education, workshops, information, and referral.
Support developmental conversations with families.
Prepare program plans including play and inquiry-based learning opportunities.
Ensure programs foster belonging, well-being, engagement, and expression for children, parents, and caregivers.
Plan individual and group activities across developmental domains.
Assist children to develop independence in self-care routines.
Engage in conversations with parents/caregivers about child development, parenting, nutrition, play, and inquiry-based learning.
Provide targeted outreach opportunities for specific populations.
Complete assessments, checklists, and documentation in an effective and timely manner.
Support Ontario Autism – Entry to School Programs on an as-needed basis
Requirements summary
Early Childhood Education diploma or degree (or equivalent education/experience recognized by the College of Early Childhood Educators).
Registered member of the College of Early Childhood Educators in good standing.
Minimum two years' experience working with families and children, including experience with children with ASD and working with community partners and school professionals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with sound judgement, diplomacy, tact, and listening.
Ability to determine child and family strengths using assessment tools.
Understanding of and ability to apply current Ministry of Education pedagogical practices and policy, with awareness of the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014.
Preferred
bilingual in French, Spanish, Portuguese, Tamil, or Urdu. Prepared to work flexible hours as required. Valid Class G driver's license and reliable transportation. We are recruiting for a Full-Time Contract Early Learning Facilitator (5 days a week) to support the EarlyON Child and Family Centre Program and at times, the Ontario Autism – Entry to School Programs. Working as part of a team, this position is responsible for the daily operation of our EarlyON locations. Using a child and family centred, collaborative approach to service delivery, this role facilitates programs for children 0 – 6 along with their parent or care provider. Early Learning Facilitators develop and deliver programming that reflects the pedagogical document How Does Learning Happen, deliver parent education and workshops, and support developmental conversations with families. This position also supports the Ontario Autism – Entry to School Programs operated by Empower Simcoe on an as needed basis. This will be a contract up to 6 months with the possibility of extension. Compensation Package:
Work up to 37.5 hours per week
Minimum starting rate of pay is $29.74 per hour - 11 paid statutory holidays
