The Workshop Facilitator delivers competency-based training and workshops to help clients overcome employment barriers and develop life skills. This includes managing workshop logistics, evaluating client progress, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Candidates must have a diploma in social services, instruction, or facilitation and at least two years of recent experience in group facilitation. A satisfactory criminal record check is required, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training must be obtained.
Open Door Group (ODG), a mission-driven non-profit organization serving communities in Alberta and BC, is seeking a Workshop Facilitator to support individuals facing barriers to employment in achieving greater life stability, career readiness, and meaningful employment outcomes.
Status: Part-Time, Permanent
28.8 Hours per week
$32.04 to $33.83 per hour
The primary work location is the Open Door Group location at Suite 150, 707 10th Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta.
The Workshop Facilitator delivers engaging, competency-based training designed to help clients develop the skills and confidence needed for employment, greater independence, and long-term success. This role supports individuals with diverse abilities and varying employment readiness levels by creating inclusive and accessible learning experiences tailored to individual learning needs.
The Workshop Facilitator is responsible for delivering curriculum while adapting instructional approaches to support diverse learners and overcome barriers to participation. The role collaborates closely with colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality workshop delivery across both virtual and in-person learning environments.
This position also evaluates client progress, and manages workshop logistics and administrative requirements.

Deliver engaging, competency-based workshops and training sessions that support clients in developing employment readiness, life skills, and workplace confidence. Use adult learning principles and interactive instructional methods to create positive and accessible learning environments.
Foster supportive relationships with participants while encouraging engagement, confidence, and active participation in learning. Monitor client progress, provide constructive feedback, and respond appropriately to individual learning barriers or changing participant needs.
Collaboration & Administrative Coordination
Collaborate with colleagues to support consistent and high-quality service delivery across programs. Manage workshop scheduling, materials, attendance tracking, reporting, and administrative documentation while maintaining accurate records.
