<p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Position Description</strong></p> <p>A temporary full time (1.0) Intermediate Teacher is required by School District No.

60 (Peace River North) effective September 1, 2026 until June 30, 2027.

The assignment will be at Prespatou Elementary/Jr.

Secondary School.</p> <p>(Transportation from the Board Office to Prespatou School may be available.

Please contact the Principal for more Information)</p> <p>Prespatou Elementary Secondary is a vibrant K-12 school located in a beautiful rural setting approximately one hours drive from Fort St John.

The schools population is approximately 300 students from Kindergarten to grade 12.

Prespatou School services a broad range of students from the communities of Prespatou and Buick Creek.

The students speak a variety of languages such as Low German, and Russian.

Our students enjoy an active lifestyle at home and at school.

The school building is the hub for the community with many events held regularly (meetings, gym nights, sewing, music, dinners, weddings).

Educational services provided include English as a Second Language, Learning Assistance, and Inclusion.

Staffing currently includes 15 K-12 teachers, 2 support educators and 4 support staff.

We value the relationship between school, community and our PAC.

Our PAC has 12 elected members who meet monthly.

For more information please see <a></a>. </p> <p>Please note that part-time teachers may be required to attend Pro-D or other non- instructional days on days when they are not regularly scheduled to work. </p><p><br></br></p> <p><strong>Qualifications and Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for)</li> <li>Qualifications and demonstrated ability to teach the identified subjects </li> <li>Experience with universal design and differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal, communications, collaboration and organization skills</li> <li>Experience/training/knowledge of Social Emotional Learning.

Demonstrated ability to create a positive classroom community contributing to a safe, caring, and healthy school where every student feels a sense of belonging</li> <li>Strong belief in the philosophy of inclusion and the potential of all students to learn</li> <li>Understanding of the BC Curriculum and ability to plan both short-term and long-term in consideration of class composition</li> <li>Willingness to work in a collaborative model with staff on the foundation of enhancing student learning</li> <li>Demonstrated use of classroom management practices that are pro-active and maintain student dignity</li> <li>Demonstrated use of assessment practices that promote student learning and maintain student dignity</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> <strong>Interested applicants are required to supply</strong></p> <ul> <li>Three (3) references</li> <li>Verification of qualifications (BC Teacher Certificate) </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> <strong>Compensation</strong></p> <ul> <li>$2000 relocation allowance for teachers from BC, AB and Yukon and up to $4000 for teachers from other areas</li> <li>$3,500 recruitment allowance (paid over 10 months of the school year, based on the FTE)</li> <li>Salary as per collective agreement.

Current salary grid is $72,720 - $118,770</li> <li>Benefits as per collective agreement with option to enroll in medical, dental, extended health, and group life insurance.
