The instructor will teach a course on supporting mental health in the classroom using a strength-based approach. They will provide teacher candidates with practical strategies for creating inclusive environments and engaging with multidisciplinary support circles.
Requires a Master's degree in Education, a Bachelor of Education, and K-10 teaching certification with experience in Ontario schools. Leadership or scholarship in School Mental Health is required, while a Doctoral degree and post-secondary teaching experience are preferred.

This course advocates a strength-based approach to supporting students experiencing mental health issues in today’s classrooms. Teacher Candidates will learn practical strategies for creating an inclusive classroom environment that nurtures the mental health well-being of all students, including how to engage with professionals within a multidisciplinary model to establish a circle of support.
