The instructor will examine theoretical foundations to promote student learning and engagement at the Primary/Junior level. They will guide Teacher Candidates in designing and implementing instruction, assessment, and evaluation based on Ontario Ministry of Education policies.
Requires a Master's degree in Education, a Bachelor of Education or K-10 Teaching Certification, and Ontario teaching experience in grades K-6. Expertise in planning and assessment is essential.

This course will examine the theoretical foundations that promote student learning, achievement, well-being and engagement at the Primary/Junior level. Teacher Candidates will examine curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and evaluation supported by relevant Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum, policy and supporting documents. The course will provide Teacher Candidates with opportunities to consider and apply methods to design, plan, and implement ways to promote continuous improvement of instruction, assessment, and evaluation across the curriculum. Successful candidate will work with the course lead in order to provide consistency across sections. Qualifications – Required: Master’s degree in Education; Bachelor of Education and/or K – 10 Teaching Certification; Grades K–6 Ontario teaching experience with expertise in the area of planning and assessment Qualifications – Discipline: Education
