Qualifications

• The minimum qualifications for a new appointment shall be: 1. Master’s level qualifications in related areas (e.g. Business Communication, Education, English, Applied Linguistics, Languages) or Bachelor degree and TESL Certificate with a supervised practicum. 2. Minimum of 3 years’ successful experience teaching advanced English to international students at the University level, including expertise in teaching the writing process, APA citation style, oral presentation, reading, listening, and note-taking. 3. Proven understanding of business related topics and professional standards for public speaking and business documents, such as letters, reports, and business plans. Successful applicants will have either formal education in business or professional experience in the field (minimum 1 year). 4. Previous successful experience teaching all fours skills integrated and using authentic and current business materials. Successful applicants will have familiarity with task-based and genre-based teaching approaches. 5. Demonstrated interpersonal qualities that support international students’ course-related needs, including the ability to communicate effectively, provide meaningful feedback, maintain accurate records, and work collaboratively. 6. Advanced competence in the use of email, Sakai, Microsoft Office 365, Internet, Turnitin, and multi-media equipment.
