Assess and treat patients within the CASA Classroom program using a multidisciplinary approach. Contribute to program development and provide care both in-person and virtually across the province.
Must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Subspecialty certification in child and adolescent psychiatry and an interest in academic appointments are highly desired.

CASA Mental Health Classrooms are CASA’s model for school-based mental health service. The program addresses the need for services closer to students by bridging a child’s mental health and school needs, through a coordinated approach by a mental health team and a teacher. CASA Classrooms are delivered in partnership with the Government of Alberta, community partners and school divisions.
Assess and treat patients attending the CASA Classroom program. Assist with program development. Work in a multidisciplinary team including physicians, therapists, nurses, psychologists, transition support navigators, concurrent counsellors, occupational therapists, and speech and language pathologists. Provide in person or virtual care across the province to multiple CASA Classroom teams.
Candidates must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in psychiatry and preferably have subspecialty certification in child and adolescent psychiatry. Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. An interest in education of residents and students is highly desirable as the successful candidate is expected to apply for an academic appointment in the University of Alberta’s Department of Psychiatry.
A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate. A satisfactory Child Intervention Check. Following the interview process, selected candidates must successfully complete the credentialing process prior to being appointed as a member of the medical staff.
