We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented nursing professionals to join our team as Lab Evaluators / Testers for the Integrated Nursing Practice (INP) program.
  • Employment Type: Part-time, Contract
  • Location: Surrey, BC
  • Compensation: RNs (flat rate of $51/hour) or LPNs (flat rate of $37/hour)
  • Start Date: June 4, 2026
  • Schedule: days are typically scheduled from 8am-4pm

About the Role

The Lab Evaluator / Tester is responsible for the effective administration and hybrid delivery of assigned Integrated Nursing Practice (INP) lab testing sessions within Stenberg College’s Nursing Program. This role plays a key part in ensuring fair, consistent, and standards-based student evaluation in alignment with academic and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lab Evaluation & Testing
  • Review case scenario materials provided by the INP Lab Lead Instructor, including case studies, tester keys, and evaluation forms (distributed at least one week prior to testing).
  • Ensure full understanding of grading criteria and evaluation expectations prior to testing sessions.
  • Submit any questions or clarifications to the INP Lab Lead Instructor in advance of testing.
  • Attend pre-session briefing and assist with lab setup as required.
  • Facilitate student testing sessions, ensuring accurate timing and adherence to scheduled durations.
  • Record start and end times on assessment documents when applicable.
  • Provide detailed written evaluations for student performance.
  • Immediately notify the INP Lab Lead Instructor if a student does not meet required competencies.
  • Participate in post-session debriefs to review:
  • Student performance trends
  • Strengths and areas for improvement
  • Identified learning gaps or concerns
  • Submit completed evaluation and assessment documentation to the INP Lab Lead Instructor.
  • Ensure lab spaces are cleaned and materials are returned to designated areas following testing.
  • Support additional lab duties as directed if time remains within scheduled shift.

Qualifications

  • Required
  • Minimum 3 years of recent and relevant experience as an LPN or Registered Nurse
  • Strong clinical knowledge and ability to evaluate nursing practice
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice
  • Preferred
  • Previous experience in clinical instruction, supervision, or student evaluation
  • Experience in simulation or lab-based education environments
