2025-031 Position: Summer Student Coordinators (Post-Secondary) – Various Positions Department: Social Services Employment Status: Contract (Approx. 2.5 months) Salary: $21.50/HR – 35 Hours per Week Location: Naughton, ON

Position scope

Atikameksheng Anishnawbek is seeking three (3) dedicated and enthusiastic Post-Secondary Summer Student Coordinators for the following three (3) positions:

Jays Care Coordinator

Summer Camp Coordinator

Summer Student Coordinator

These positions will support children and youth in the Jays Care Baseball setting and other summer camp programs and activities, reinforcing learning and retention concepts.

Required qualifications

Enrolled as a Post-Secondary Student for the 2026/2027 School Year Preference to Atikameksheng Anishnawbek Band Members (Please identify on your resume) Ability to submit a CPIC with Vulnerable Sector Screening First Aid and CPR with AED Certification, or willing to obtain. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

  • Positive role model with knowledge of child and youth development. Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality. Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with program participants, parents, and caregivers Effective verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Atikameksheng Anishnawbek traditions and culture. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES: Support participants in developing social, life, and learning skills. Recognize and respond effectively in emergency situations by activating the Emergency Action Plan (EAP). Act as a positive role model and leader. Work with Atikameksheng Anishnawbek Staff and Volunteers to address concerns. Document all incidents and/or injuries. Supervise participants during activities and field trips. Maintain a safe work environment. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • ENVIRONMENT: This role involves outdoor work in varying weather conditions, physical activity, and interaction with community members of all ages. Travel within the community and surrounding areas may be required.
