About grandview kids

  • Grandview Kids provides an array of specialized programs, rehabilitation services, and outpatient clinical treatments to children and youth with physical, communication, and developmental needs.

Grandview Kids is now accepting applications for the position of

  • Peer Navigator Summer Student (Contract Full Time)
  • Full-time Contract – 37.5 hours/week
  • June 22, 2026 – August 14, 2026 •

Hourly Rate

  • $18 per hour
  • Flexible work schedule, may include some evenings and weekends, hybrid or in-person and work from home
  • Reporting directly to the Family Engagement Program Manager, and supported by the ambassador Advisor and Discipline Lead, the Peer Support Worker student is responsible for supporting the Family Engagement Team in all aspects of program delivery, including family events, fundraising events and workshops.
  • The Peer Support Worker Student works closely with the Family Engagement Team to coordinate events, play dates, and workshop sessions.
  • This position will support workshop preparation by managing registration lists, setting up meeting spaces, copying and basic office duties.
  • The student will provide support to the Youth Advisory Council and their events.
  • The student will participate in education; maintains a safe work environment; participates in the Centre’s Quality Improvement Program (QIP); and carries out other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting clients, caregivers and families who are willing to share their experiences with and on behalf of Grandview Kids and/or the Grandview Kids Foundation.
  • Ensuring that Families are engaged through involvement in events and workshops; regular communications and other methods as appropriate
  • Coordinating the attendance of families at events and the registration process as needed.
  • Arranging and participating in photoshoots and video shoots as needed
  • Providing feedback on activities by tracking hours and metrics, maintaining contact with the Family Engagement Program Manager to support the ongoing relationship with the program and to bring forward concerns.
  • Supporting the Youth Advisory Council

Qualifications

  • Lived experience as a Grandview Kids client and/or family member of a Grandview Kids client is required
  • Experience with writing speeches
  • Experience with supporting fundraising activities, family activities and events coordination
  • Experience working and/or volunteering in community and/or health services.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable working with a team as well as independently.
  • Passion for sharing the vision, mission and values of Grandview Kids with the community.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint or alternate presentation software.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Word.
