Position Summary
We are seeking three enthusiastic and responsible Summer Students to join our team in a temporary full-time capacity as Group Home Workers. This position provides three students with a flexible and dynamic work environment for students pursuing studies in human services, psychology, social work, or community support to gain meaningful, hands-on experience.
As a Group Home/Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting individuals within community-based residential settings. You will help create a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment that promotes independence and well-being. This position involves shift work, with opportunities to contribute to special projects and program initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support and supervision for individuals in a group home setting
- Assist with daily routines and household duties such as meal prep and cleaning
- Support individuals in community engagement and recreational activities
- Help residents build life skills such as budgeting, transit use, and cooking
- Offer emotional support and foster personal growth and independence
- Document progress and participate in team collaboration to ensure high-quality care
Qualifications
- / Skills:
- Passion for supporting individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
- Dependable, respectful, and open to learning
- Previous experience in caregiving, social services, or education is an asset but not required
Conditions of Employment
- Location of work: Edmonton, AB
- Start Date: As early as June 1, 2026 (flexible)- Mid August 2026
- Duration: 8 weeks.
Hours
- 35 hours per week- week day, evening, and weekend availability is an asset
- Shift work: 6:45
- AM-3:00
- PM & 2:45
- PM- 11:00 PM
