Afterschool care worker

Responsible Adult Position for After School Care Summit Community Services Society (SCSS) seeks an enthusiastic educator to join our Afterschool Care program staff at Kids Club Afterschool program in Cranbrook. The candidate will practice according to IHA’s child care licensing regulations, the ECE code of ethics and the BC Early Learning Framework. The successful candidate will assist in planning activities throughout the day, such as reading, physical activity, and creative expression through art and song.

This position is currently 20hrs per week, 4hrs day, fulltime during the summer and school closure days. This position will also qualify for the amazing benefit plan offers and you will get to work along side a wonderful support team.

Key duties and responsibilities

Assist in planning developmentally appropriate activities. Maintain open and positive communication with parents. Provide guidance with safe hygiene practices Monitor children throughout the day and ensure safety at all times Provide guidance to assisting staff members Ensure play environment is kept sanitary, perform regular cleaning duties. EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED Responsible Adult Certification (Or equivalent, please refer to https://www.health.gov.bc.ca/library/publications/year/2008/Fact_sheet_responsible_adult_childcare.pdf for more information) First Aid Certificate Food Safe Certificate Criminal Record Check JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to work in partnership with team members.
