Job description

We are seeking a part-time temporary Employment Services Officer (Employment Program Assistant) for 8 weeks (35 hours per week). The Employment Services Officer will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Integrated Employment Services. This position focuses on enhancing client engagement, supporting intake processes, and ensuring the effective coordination of employment programs and services.

Please note that this job opening is for Canada Summer Jobs applicants only, who must meet the participant requirements under the Canada Summer Jobs Agreement with the Employment and Social Development Canada as outlined: between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment; a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and; have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities

Assist participants during in-person and virtual intake sessions by completing assessments and addressing program-related inquiries to ensure a welcoming and efficient onboarding experience Support the setup and breakdown of group sessions, ensuring spaces are organized, accessible, and conducive to learning Deliver pre-employment support through one-on-one coaching and group workshops, covering topics such as resume development, interview preparation, and job search strategies Conduct follow-up communications (phone and email) to track participant progress, gather employment updates, and re-engage individuals as needed Accurately maintain participant records and case notes within the CRM system, ensuring compliance with organizational and funder requirements Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of employment services Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas, feedback, and observations to improve program effectiveness and participant outcomes Support ongoing program development initiatives and special projects as required

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in or recently completed secondary or post-secondary education Interest in employment services, community work, or helping others develop job readiness skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds Organized and dependable, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with databases or CRM systems is an asset Willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute positively to a team setting Previous volunteer or work experience in customer service, administration, or working with youth is considered an asset Professional, reliable, and committed to maintaining confidentiality
