Core responsibilities
- Support classroom teachers in understanding and planning for social, emotional, and behavioural needs of students.
- Provide individual and group counseling services.
- Support emotional and social development of adolescents.
- Contribute to a student-Centred learning environment.
- Implement inclusive and culturally responsive practices
Requirements summary
- Master's degree in counseling including a 300-Hour supervised practicum.
- Successful elementary teaching experience.
- Understanding of substance abuse etiology and prevention strategies.
- Ability to provide counseling to students.
- Knowledge of classroom management.
- Experience with social and learning difficulties.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with computer software and technology
