Child and Youth Care Counsellor

The counsellor will assess client needs, develop individualized strategies with measurable goals, and implement these strategies primarily in community settings while evaluating client progress through detailed reporting. Responsibilities also include facilitating recreational and educational opportunities, managing schedules, recording expenses, and collaborating with other professionals.

Candidates must have relevant education, training, and experience working with children aged 5 to 18 who have developmental disabilities, along with a class 4 driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle. Essential qualifications include strong interpersonal, counseling, communication, and organizational skills, plus the ability to pass police information and vulnerable sector checks.
