Core responsibilities
- Provide academic support to indigenous students.
- Assist teachers with program delivery.
- Support social-Emotional and cultural development.
- Collaborate with school staff to create flexible schedules.
- Assist in trauma-Informed classroom practices.
- Gather and share student performance and engagement information.
- Develop and reinforce learning activities.
- Support learning and social activities in community settings.
- Monitor and report on program effectiveness.
- Maintain learner records.
- Participate in team meetings
Requirements summary
- Two-Year post-Secondary education in indigenous studies, psychology, sociology, or human service worker.
- Experience working with indigenous communities and students.
- Knowledge of indigenous protocols and cultures.
- Ability to implement first peoples principles of learning.
- Computer proficiency in microsoft programs.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and coordination.
- Class 5 bc driver's license.
- Criminal record check
