The childcare worker is responsible for providing effective childcare, supervision, and developmental support for women and children fleeing domestic violence through play-Based programming. This role involves collaborating with the shelter team to ensure services are trauma-Informed and strengths-Based while maintaining a safe and stimulating environment for children aged 0 to 6.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess an early learning and childcare diploma or equivalent, along with alberta childcare certification (Level 1 or 2), and 1-3 years of experience in a childcare centre. Essential qualifications include knowledge of domestic violence impact, provincial childcare regulations, strong decision-Making skills, and the ability to remain calm and react quickly to ensure child safety.
