The family health educator promotes optimal family and childhood health outcomes by counseling, supporting, and educating parents in one-On-One and group settings, focusing on case management, system navigation, and health teachings. Key duties involve assisting clients to find solutions for health-Related goals while understanding social determinants of health, equity, and trauma-Informed care.
Candidates must possess a university degree in a relevant field such as social work, occupational therapy, or nursing, with a preference for registered nurses, and three to five years of experience in primary care or related settings. Essential requirements include experience supporting vulnerable populations, knowledge of child development, and strong assessment and interpersonal skills.
