  • The position is full-time for a one-year term with the possibility of renewal. </p> <p><strong>JOB DESCRIPTION</strong></p> <p>Key Responsibilities<br></br> Program Oversight & Compliance<br></br> Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with learning needs.<br></br> Ensure compliance with all provincial and CISVA regulations, guidelines, and policies related to special education.<br></br> The ideal candidate will demonstrate comprehensive expertise in the Response to Intervention (RTI) framework—a critical system for identifying students at risk and ensuring they receive the necessary instructional and support services. <br></br></p><p> Collaboration with Faculty & Staff<br></br> Work closely with teachers, counsellors, and support staff to assess and address the academic, social, and emotional needs of students receiving special education services.<br></br> Guide best practices, instructional strategies, and accommodations to ensure equitable access to the curriculum for all students. </p><p> Professional Development<br></br> Plan and deliver professional development sessions and workshops for faculty, focusing on special education regulations, instructional strategies, and inclusive classroom practices.<br></br> Stay current with educational trends and research, sharing relevant findings and resources with staff. <br></br></p><p> Student Support & Advocacy<br></br> Coordinate and oversee evaluation processes to determine student eligibility for special education services.<br></br> Communicate regularly with families and advocate for students, ensuring they receive appropriate services and support for their needs.<br></br> </p><p> Data Collection & Reporting<br></br> Maintain accurate records and documentation for IEPs, assessments, and related services.<br></br> Collect and analyze data on student performance to inform decision-making and program improvements.<br></br> Prepare reports for school administration and external agencies as required. <br></br> </p><p>Budget Management<br></br> Develop and manage the special education budget, including staffing needs, materials, and specialized equipment.<br></br> Evaluate and recommend cost-effective resources and supports to enhance the quality of special education services.<br></br> </p><p> Leadership & Community Engagement<br></br> Collaborate with school leaders and the CISVA superintendent’s office to shape policies and procedures that support students with disabilities.<br></br> Foster relationships with community organizations, professional networks, and stakeholders to enhance services and opportunities for students. <br></br> </p><p> Qualifications & Skills<br></br> Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).<br></br> Proven leadership experience in a school setting, particularly in Learning Resource.<br></br> Comprehensive knowledge of special education policies and best practices.<br></br> Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.<br></br> Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including educators, families, and community partners.</p><p> We appreciate all applicants' interest in St.
