Overview
Deliver the StrongStart Early Learning Drop-in Program for parents/caregivers with preschool children. Develop and maintain a purposeful play-based environment aligned with StrongStart BC guidelines. Plan and deliver the StrongStart program and ensure curriculum is appropriate for pre-kindergarten children. Promote cognitive, language, physical, social, and emotional development. Support parent skill acquisition through child-centered developmental training. Create and maintain an inviting, inclusive environment responsive to children and families’ needs, interests, and backgrounds. Collect registration documents from new families and maintain accurate attendance records while securing personal information. Record monthly and quarterly statistics for the District and Ministry of Education and Child Care. Produce reports and work plans in cooperation with the District as required. Provide opportunities for parents/caregivers to observe and practice effective strategies that support early learning. Plan and purchase snacks and program supplies within an established budget. Involve families and offer informal supports to adults in the program. Facilitate connections between parents and caregivers to create a warm and inclusive community. Provide information to children and families about the StrongStart program and community services/resources/supports. Respond to information and resource requests from care providers, parents, community members, and the public. Facilitate special events, workshops, meetings, and parent information sessions in collaboration with community agencies and school personnel.
