Overview
Assist teachers and severe behavioural students and parents upon assignment by the principal or designate. Develop strategies to help students achieve acceptable personal/social behaviour patterns. Plan, implement, and monitor behaviour management programs (observation, record keeping, follow-up, reinforcement). Participate in meetings and consult with student support services, classroom teachers, School Based Team, parents, and other agencies. Work one-to-one or in small groups to reinforce targeted behaviour goals as indicated in the student behaviour plan (IEP). Assist with planning and implementing family, group, and individual counselling programs. Provide guidance, encouragement, and support to students for social skills and responsible behaviour. Organize recreational programs including arranging transportation. Organize and supervise programs such as foods, workshop, physical education, and crafts. Perform other related or emergent duties as determined by the District Counsellor
