Teach Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and French at the secondary level. Create and maintain a positive classroom community that supports physical and emotional safety, respect, tolerance, acceptance, and inclusion. Plan instruction using the BC Curriculum with short-term and long-term considerations. Use universal design and differentiation to meet diverse student needs. Implement proactive classroom management practices that maintain student dignity. Use assessment practices that promote student learning and maintain student dignity. Develop and deliver programs to support social skills, self-esteem, anger and anxiety management, bullying prevention, and coping with peer pressure. Collaborate with staff in a collaborative model to enhance student learning. Participate in collaboration meetings as dictated by student needs, outside agencies, and learning support departments. Maintain IEPs in consultation with school-based teams and outside agencies. Use computers for instructional processes and reporting. Work with databases and spreadsheets. Be flexible to adjust to other course assignments as dictated by course demands
