The educator provides one-on-one support for a child, creating and implementing tailored educational and recreational programming. They are also responsible for maintaining a clean, safe environment and fostering positive relationships with the child, family, and colleagues.
Please note: This is a term position starting as soon as possible and ending August 2027, with a possibility of extension if the child continues to require services. Age group - Preschool Shifts will be: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm Monday to Friday (without a break). 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm Monday to Friday (without a break). 8:00 am - 6:00 pm Non-school/PD days (with a 1.5 hour break). We are seeking an individual who possesses a strong understanding of child development, exceptional engagement skills, and a dedication to fostering positive relationships with both children and colleagues. The ideal candidate will be dependable, adaptable, fluent in English, and exhibit outstanding communication, multitasking abilities, and experience with children with varied abilities. Prior experience is advantageous, and candidates must possess Alberta Child Care certification levels 1, along with current criminal record check (with vulnerable sector search) and first aid certification.
Key Responsibilities Providing one-on-one support for a specific child within the childcare program.

Adhering to Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Regulations and Active Start's policies and procedures to ensure quality care.
