Teach Grade 2 and Grade 3 students.

Cover maternity leave for the 2026 to 2027 school year.

Work on-site in the Grade 2/3 classroom.

Collaborate with the main teacher during the transition period until October 16, 2026.

Establish and maintain a positive classroom environment with high expectations.

<p>Skeetchestn Community School</p> <p>Full Time Grade 2 and 3 Teacher Required for Maternity Leave</p> <p>The Skeetchestn Indian Band is a rural First Nations Community located approximately 60 Kilometers West of Kamloops, British Columbia.

Skeetchestn Community School was established in 2004 and has been working for the community to provide quality education from a First Nations perspective for the past 22 years.

Skeetchestn Community School fosters a collaborative culture; open, friendly, team-based, participative, and consensus driven.

The school offers Kindergarten through Grade 12 and accommodates about 75 students.

The school contains a total of five classrooms; a gymnasium; a library/resource centre; a multipurpose classroom for the Secwepemctsin language and culture, as well as, special education uses; administration and staff rooms.

Additionally, our school offers agricultural programs year round that utilize our school barn, food forest, greenhouse, garden and student food processing hub.

While our school may be small, we offer outstanding services such as a meal program that provides a healthy breakfast, snack and lunch, an established travel club that has already visited Japan, Italy and Greece, a after school art club for students in Grades 9 to 12 and is hoping to add a Science fair club this year.

Our staff is inclusive, diverse and above all else; passionate about education. </p><p>We currently require a Contracted Teacher for the 2026 to 2027 school year.

This position is to cover a maternity leave in the Grade 2/3 class.

The main teacher will be on site working with the new teacher to help with the transition until October 16th, 2026.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a new teacher who is open to mentorship and coaching. </p> <p>Requirements &

</p> <p>You must holding a:</p> <p>1. Valid B.C Teacher's Certificate</p> <p>2. Bachelors of Education Degree</p> <p>3. TQS Certification, category 5 or higher</p> <p>4. Requirements

Valid B.C.

Teacher's Certificate.

Bachelor of Education degree.

TQS Certification, category 5 or higher.

Active membership with the B.C.

College of Teachers.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and community.

Successful experience enabling all students to learn successfully.
