Kinesiology and Sports Studies Instructor(s) - Part Time Faculty/Instructor Profile The School of Health and Wellness at Red Deer Polytechnic is currently inviting applications for a Part-time instructor position for the KDNC 1200 A and 01 – Spectrum of Dance in Society in the Kinesiology and Sports Studies Program commencing August 17, 2026. For more information on RDP instructors, explore: Faculty Profile Position Responsibilities The focus of this position will be instructing the KDNC 1200 A and 01 – Spectrum of Dance in Society for Fall: 9/2/2026 – 12/09/2026 and Winter 12/16/2026 – 04/30/2027. Responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to): Teaching students in classroom and/or lab settings with flexibility for both face to face and online course delivery. Creating a stimulating, effective, and learner-centered environment. Preparing, reviewing and/or updating course material. Marking, grading, and evaluation of student work. Providing ongoing feedback, guidance, and assistance to students. Upholding the Professional Responsibilities of Faculty at RDP which are described within the Faculty Performance Policy. Demonstrating and promoting RDP organizational values and following RDP policies and practices. Required Qualifications Master’s degree preferably in Kinesiology, Physical Education, or Recreation. Practical experience in dance instruction and knowledge of theory. Excellent communication, public relations and interpersonal skills. Passion for teaching, ability to inspire students, and commitment to student learning and success. Ability to work effectively in a variety of team environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional experience and education in the field. Experience teaching in a post-secondary environment. Salary or Hourly? Salary Salary Commensurate with education and experience Benefits and Compensation Information Part-time Instructors: Receive an additional 14% of their gross salary in lieu of benefits and vacation pay. Part-time instructors are not eligible for comprehensive health and dental benefits packages. Eligible for individual professional development funding, additional free professional development opportunities offered through the institution.
