We are seeking a Health & Physical Education teacher with Primary Years Programme (PYP) experience to work in our Junior School starting in the 2026-27 academic year on a contract basis. In a community where social-emotional learning is a priority, the successful candidate will collaborate with a passionate and committed team, working closely with the Head of the Junior School, and the Assistant Heads of the Junior School and PYP Coordinators.

Using a lens of social-emotional learning, create a class environment and rapport that inspires and supports learning and personal growth;
Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a solid foundation for further education in accordance with each student's ability and needs;
Establish positive relationships with parents, faculty and other staff members;
Plan and deliver the written, taught and assessed curriculum is in line with IB PYP and Ministry of Education curriculum, ensuring differentiation for physical education and health units of student Junior
Develop long-range plans, and integrate physical education into units of inquiry and lesson plans for JK-Gr 6 while ensuring integration of all aspects of the IB PYP curriculum, with a focus on inquiry-based learning;
Develop programme of inquiry, unit plans and lesson plans, ensuring integration of all aspects of the IB PYP curriculum, with a focus on SEL, DEI and inquiry-based learning;
Update all necessary records accurately as required by the Ministry, IBO and school guidelines;
Communicate information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress, including formally through report cards and parent-teacher meetings, 3-way conferences and student-led conferences;
Keep up to date and incorporate best practices in subject area and approaches to teaching and learning through professional reading, participating in workshops and other professional development opportunities;
Participate actively in faculty and division meetings and meet regularly with all course teams to plan, review and update the written curriculum;
Support the aquatics programming as part of the HPE program;
Assume responsibility for and participate in co-curricular activities.

Placement on the Branksome Hall Faculty Salary Grid is determined based upon years of applicable teaching experience, level of education completed, and additional qualifications (AQs). The grid ranges from $73,207.43 – $104,561.97 for up to 6 years of applicable experience and $104,917.83 – $139,386.28 for more than 6 years of applicable experience.
