<p><strong>NORTH DISTRICT COMMUNICATION SKILLS SPECIALIST TEACHER</strong><br></br></p><p>An employment opportunity exists for a <strong>Temporary Part-Time (0.2 FTE Literacy, 0.2 FTE Numeracy) North District Communication Skills Specialist Teacher</strong> effective September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027. </p><p><u>Requirements:</u> </p><ul><li>A university teaching major, or its equivalent, relevantly related to the teaching position; </li><li>Understanding and being committed to the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, including the eradication of existing and persistent equity gaps for specific groups of children; </li><li>The focus of this role will be to support teachers to enhance students' Communication Skills in both literacy and numeracy; </li><li>Work in collaboration with the District staff to plan and provide professional learning opportunities and support teachers in designing for personalization of student learning; </li><li>Have proven skills with creating strength-based, core competency centred student action plans and supporting student success though individual student goal setting; </li><li>Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, instruct and evaluate learning activities for students' strengths and for their academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs; </li><li>Understanding of local resources and environment; </li><li>Teacher Regulation Branch certification. </li></ul>Competitive Salary: $30,166 - $48,089 per annum <p>Remote and Rural Allowance: $1,400 per annum </p><p>Travel Allowance: $482 per annum </p><p>Up to $2,000 relocation allowance upon submission of receipts </p><p><strong><i>Teachers currently employed with the district need only submit a letter of intent. </i></strong></p><p>If you are interested in assuming this role, please submit a teacher application complete with comprehensive resume and supporting documents, along with three (3) professional references by <b>OPEN UNTIL FILLED</b></p><p><i>School District No. 50 (Haida Gwaii) hires on the basis of merit and is committed to employment equity.
