About the role

<p><strong>HIGH SCHOOL LEARNING SUPPORT, OUTREACH & SCIENCE 11 TEACHER </strong></p><p><strong>Daaxiigan S</strong><strong>ḵ</strong><strong>'adáa Née K-12 School </strong></p><p>An employment opportunity exists for a <strong>Temporary Part-Time (0.571 FTE) High School Learning Support, Outreach & Science Teacher</strong> effective September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027 at Daaxiigan Sḵ'adáa Née K-12 School. </p><p><u>Requirements:</u> </p><ul><li>A university teaching major, or its equivalent, directly related to the teaching position; </li><li>Understanding and being committed to the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, including the eradication of existing and persistent equity gaps for specific groups of children; </li><li>High level of skills related to successful classroom management, and to the development and maintenance of a positive classroom climate; </li><li>Experience with multi-grade classes an asset; </li><li>Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, instruct and evaluate learning activities for students' strengths and for their academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs; </li><li>Assume primary responsibility for designing, instructing, assessing, and evaluating the educational programming of all assigned students;</li><li>Working with the learning services and administrative team to collaboratively develop and implement Individual Education Plans and Behavior Plans;</li><li>Knowledge of school-based teams; </li><li>Be prepared to provide support in creating inclusive learning environments where students are connected, supported, engaged and challenged; </li><li>Proven interpersonal skills, work ethic and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, education assistants, parents and administrators; </li><li>Understanding of local resources and environment; </li><li>Teacher Regulation Branch certification. </li></ul>Competitive Salary: $68,767 - $43,137 per annum <p>Remote and Rural Allowance: $2,002 per annum </p><p>Travel Allowance: $690 per annum </p><p>Up to $2,000 relocation allowance upon submission of receipts </p><p><strong><i>Teachers currently employed with the district need only submit a letter of intent. </i></strong></p><p>If you are interested in assuming this role, please submit a teacher application complete with comprehensive resume and supporting documents, along with three (3) professional references by <b>OPEN UNTIL FILLED</b></p><p><i>School District No. 50 (Haida Gwaii) hires on the basis of merit and is committed to employment equity.
