Position Summary
Applications are invited from qualified individuals to instruct in the Health Care Assistant (HCA) Certificate program at North Island College (NIC). The sessional instructional assignment, up to 100%, involves teaching the practice courses HCA 145: Practice Experience in Home Support, Assisted Living, and/or Group Home Setting and HCA 155: Practice Experience in Multi-Level and/or Complex Care to a cohort of Comox Valley international HCA students using a face-to-face and online delivery method.
Note
Practicum placements will take place in a variety of practice settings and may require travel. Applicants need to have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation. The successful candidate will implement creative strategies in the preparation and delivery of theory, lab, and/or practice course activities; use initiative in providing documentation and follow-up with regard to student concerns and problem resolution; and bring facilitation skills to management of conflict. The schedule for this assignment will be flexible to meet the needs of the program.
