  • Friday between 7:00am to 6:00pm shifts
  • Pay
  • Rate (includes wage grants):
  • RECE: $27.36 per hour

Who We’re Looking For

Experience

  • Minimum 1-year experience working directly with children, OR related experience in a childcare setting, working with school-age children is preferred but not required
  • Education: Diploma in a field related to childcare such as Early Childhood Education is an advantage A Diploma in Child & Youth Worker, Child and Youth Care, OCT, Education Assistant, Social Worker, or Recreation & Leisure may also be considered.

Certifications

  • Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) is preferred but not required Standard First Aid with CPR Level C Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector
  • Police
  • Check
  • Up-to-date immunization for
  • TB,
  • Tetanus, and
  • MMR
  • Skills: Knowledge of the Ministry of Education’s How Does Learning Happen framework is an asset.

Characteristics

  • Willingness to work in an on-call capacity with flexible scheduling Availability to work a minimum of 3 days per week,
  • Monday to
  • Friday, within the 7:00
  • AM to 6:00 PM time frame. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, flexible environment with minimal supervision Flexibility and adaptability to be assigned in multiple locations, with minimal supervision. A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Reporting to assigned childcare centres to support full- and part-time staff Establishing goals, planning, implementing, and evaluating developmentally appropriate activities to support children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth in line with the How Does Learning Happen framework Maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children while fostering professional relationships with Hamilton Wentworth District School Board faculty Commitment to Accessibility We are committed to providing accommodations in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
