Employee Group: Faculty (Kwantlen Faculty Association) Days of Work (BCGEU): Hours of Work (BCGEU): Hours per Week (BCGEU): Nursing Instructor - Bachelor of Science in Nursing POSITION TYPE: NR2 Part-Time (50% FTE) POSITION START: September 1, 2026 The Faculty of Health at Kwantlen Polytechnic University invites applications for one part-time 0.50FTE NR2 appointment position for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The appointment is for the period September 1, 2026 to August 31, 2027. NR2 Faculty are entitled to paid vacation leave, professional development leave and benefits. FACULTY OVERVIEW: The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program is a full-time cohort program that prepares nursing students to work with individuals, families and communities with varying health and health promotion needs across diverse settings. The BSN program utilizes a concept-based pedagogical approach that is based on the concepts of caring and health promotion and has been developed in consultation with nursing practitioners, theorists, professional associations, and various government ministries. Pedagogy and teaching methodologies encourage the development of critical thinking and the discovery of personal meaning. There is an emphasis on practice experiences as the foundation of nursing and the recognition that nurses' work requires thoughtful, reflective action. Program courses and labs prepare nursing students to practice with clients in a wide variety of institutional and community settings. Regular faculty engage in teaching, student support, service to the school and program and professional development activities. They are entitled to paid vacation leave, professional development leave and benefits. For more information about the Faculty of Health visit our website at https://www.kpu.ca/health/bsn POSITION OVERVIEW: Fall 2026 (September Term) NRSG 2275 Nursing Applications 2 Students will develop a repertoire of nursing applications in relation maternal and infant well-being. NRSG 2245 Nursing Practice 2 Students Students will engage with clients in a maternity setting and includes instructor guided and supervised client care. Spring 2027 (January Term) Summer 2027 (May Term) Non teaching During this time faculty will engage in approved vacation, professional development days and accountable time which includes other faculty work such as committee participation, reports, curriculum revision, and updating course materials. Qualifications

  • The successful applicant must have experience in the nursing care of children and families. The required academic credentials to teach in the BSN are specific to the program and are as follows:
  • Master’s Degree; with at least one degree as a bachelor’s degree in nursing or master’s degree in nursing. Doctorate preferred.
  • Eligible for practicing membership with BCCNM with no limits, no conditions, no terms.
  • Post-secondary teaching experience preferred.

Advancement up the pay scale is based on FTE and employment status. This competition is for a maximum FTE of 50% (NR2).
