Requirements summary
Degree in Special Education (post-secondary degree or diploma with special education concentration).
Completed coursework for diverse needs of exceptional learners (special needs, learning disabilities, adapting/modifying curriculum, differentiated instruction, inclusive teaching practices).
Minimum 3-5 years recent K-12 teaching experience.
Working knowledge of special needs including autism spectrum disorder, moderate to profound intellectual disabilities, chronic health impairment, and students with dependent handicaps.
Knowledge of elementary and secondary curriculum and ability to support teachers in adapting/modifying curriculum.
Ability to design and implement programs for specific student needs.
