Ensure a safe and engaging environment for infants and toddlers by implementing the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum. Build positive relationships with families and maintain high-quality childcare standards through active supervision and daily communication.
Requires a basic ECE certification recognized in British Columbia and current Emergency First Aid/CPR-C/AED certification. An Infant Toddler Educator (ITE) license or Special Needs Educator (SNE) certification is preferred.

Term: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift: Monday-Friday with shifts rotating between the hours of 7:30am to 5:30pm
Start Date: June 29, 2026
$31.56 per hour for ECE Certificate or $32.66 per hour for ECE-IT Certificate (Includes $6 per hour Provincial Wage Enhancement Program)
Reports To: Supervisor

Nature & Scope
Early childhood educators (ECE, ECE-IT/ SN) at the YMCA ensure a safe and engaging environment for all children. By adhering to the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum, they design, and lead activities tailored to the interests and developmental stages of the children in their care. These educators also cultivate and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents, fellow educators, and community partners to deliver high-quality childcare within the communities we serve.
