NORWEST SUMMER STUDENT JOB POSTING Summer Program Assistant Paid Term Position | 15 hours/week |Term for 8 weeks Department: Baby Steps and Bright Start Program Position: Summer Program Assistant Responsible To: Community Development Coordinator Approximate Start Date: July 6, 2026 Salary: $16.00/hour Anticipated Shift: 15 hours per week (Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 AM–12:30 PM; Wednesday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM) Summary of Job DescriptionThe Summer Program Assistant will support early years programming for infants, young children, and families across program sites. Responsibilities include assisting with program setup and cleanup, supporting program delivery and family engagement, helping with light food preparation, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, and following organizational policies and confidentiality requirements. Employment is subject to eligibility under the Manitoba Green Team Program, including confirmation that the applicant is between 15–29 years of age, legally entitled to work in Canada, and possesses a valid Social Insurance Number.

High school diploma preferred or currently enrolled in high school or post-secondary education Energetic, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude Willingness to take initiative and work as part of a team Interest in working with infants, young children, and families Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work in a respectful, inclusive, and non-judgmental manner Subject to successful criminal records and child abuse registry checks Food Handler’s Certificate considered an asset
