Position Details
Are you interested in participating in training future physicians? This is a casual role with opportunities to participate on Tuesday afternoons throughout the year and occasional exam blocks. This role may involve role play for communications, being a human subject for non invasive physical exam procedures and providing feedback to students and faculty where appropriate. Ability to provide sensitive, critical intuitive verbal and written feedback following the established model when required and adhere to strict guidelines of standardization are essential. Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to): Mental and physical stamina to reproduce exacting scenarios up to 8 or more times a day for some of the exams or courses. Able to provide sensitive, critical intuitive verbal and written feedback to faculty when required as this is utilized in the evaluation of student performance. Adhere to strict guidelines of standardization, from the first encounter to the last and with other SPs of the same case; to maintain consistency and fairness for examinations. Maintain confidentiality of information related to student performance and feedback evaluations. Apply developed knowledge and expertise successfully to roles & responsibilities and acts as a key resource to others. Role play for communications. Provide feedback to students and faculty, where appropriate. Human subject for non-evasive physical exam procedures. May be required to role play in large class setting to facilitate lectures. Starting Hourly Wage Range: $23.96 – $26.50 Full Hourly Wage Range: $23.96 – $29.04 Position Qualifications Experience in acting with post-secondary education in this field. Ability to use improvisational skills, as cases require non-text experience. Ability to memorize large amounts of complex information related to personality traits, behavioral symptoms and disease entities. Ability to accurately, convincingly and consistently interpret and present symptoms and/or information, as cued by students in a simulated situation. Ability, when requested, to provide consistent, objective and focused feedback and evaluation to students in a simulated and/or testing environment within the established feedback model. Required to maintain confidentiality of records and information. Two to four years’ experience in related position preferred. Must be able to negotiate personal boundaries and request assistance if needed.
