BGC Big Brothers Big Sisters is seeking individuals interested in the following position(s):

Position(s) Available: 1
Status
Temporary 6 week Summer Position, with contract dates from June 22, 2026- July 31, 2026. Positions are full time 37.5 hours per week
Salary Range
$22.48/hour
The key responsibilities of this position will include
- Leading the planning and delivery of fun and safe recreational and educational programs to children 12+ years of age.
- Completing tasks related to the daily summer program routine including basic food preparation, serving and cleaning.
- Supporting 1:1 and group youth mentoring at the Youth Hub and assisting Summer Youth Employment teens at local events.
- Assisting with youth employment and job shadowing activities for youth, and experiential learning opportunities throughout the summer.
- Providing direct supervision, behavior management, support and mentoring to the youth ensuring positive relationships occur.
- Collaborating and interacting positively with other team members.
- Working collaboratively with team members to support youth-focused initiatives, community outreach activities, and special projects throughout the summer.
- Contributing to a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment while adapting to evolving program and community needs.
The successful candidate will have
- Minimum of 2 years previous experience working with children and youth in a summer program and/or after school program setting.
- An in-progress degree or diploma in a human services related field.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Prior experience proving programming and support to English Language Learners is an asset
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments and demands.
- Must meet all Canada Summer Job funding requirements to be eligible for these positions.

- Fridays from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
- A satisfactory Police Information Check (including Vulnerable Sector) and an Intervention Record Check completed within the last 6 months.
