Job description

Reporting to the Program Leader, the Program Support team member is responsible for assisting in the delivery of weekly sport sessions for the Autism Moves program, supporting youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role provides one-on-one and small-group support, adapts activities to meet individual needs, and helps foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment. The position also supports session setup and cleanup, while working closely with coaches to ensure a positive experience for all participants.

This part-time, contract role has an hourly rate of $21/hr. This is a replacement position and works on site.

What you’ll do

  • Assist in delivering sport sessions with the guidance and support of the Coach and Program Leader.
  • Provide one-on-one or small-group support to participants, adapting activities to their needs.
  • Monitor participant behaviour and collaborate with the Coach to address challenges.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Set up and clean up materials and equipment for each session.

  • Experience working directly with children and youth, particularly those with autism and cognitive disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build connection with participants.
  • Knowledge of inclusive practices and sensory-sensitive approaches.
  • Enthusiasm for sports and physical activity.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and coordinate logistics effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong ability to problem solve and think on your feet.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Availability to work on weekends and weeknights.
  • Access to e vehicle to attend different program sites.
  • Bilingualism (English & French) is considered an asset.
  • Able to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
