Curriculum </li><li>Maintain a safe, well-equipped shop environment</li><li>Integrate cultural and community-based projects where possible</li><li>Guide students in hands-on skill development and problem-solving</li><li>Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate records</li><li>Integrate Sim'algyax and Gitksen culture in projects and lessons</li><li>Assess and monitor student progress; provide feedback, grades, and reports</li><li>Support students' intellectual, social, and emotional development</li><li>Participate in school activities, committees, professional development, extra-curricular activites</li><li>Collaborate with colleagues to integrate project-based learning, particularly when weaving Sim'algya<u>x</u> and Gitksen culture into their curriculum.</li></ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education or equivalent</li><li>BC Teacher Certification</li><li>Trades background or Red Seal preferred</li><li>Knowledge of First Nations schools and culturally responsive instruction</li><li>Strong safety awareness and classroom/shop management skills</li><li>Strong knowledge of 21st-century, project-based learning and teaching strategies</li><li>Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills</li><li>Team player with creativity and innovation in lesson planning</li><li>Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.</li></ul> <p><strong>Benefits:</strong> GWSSS provides its employees with a competitive salary (based on SD82 wage grid) dependent on category and years of experience (ie.
