Job description
Responsibilities
Answer phone queries regarding student application status. Assists with document filing, electronic and physical. Responds to general enquiries. Assists with file clean up. Open mail and scanning documents. Assists Coordinator and Admissions Officers when needed. Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
Must be comfortable delivering information to students in person, via email, over the phone and in presentations. A general understanding of student services is needed. Ability to speak another language would be considered an asset. Must have exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with students, staff, faculty, and the public when responding to phone and email enquiries. Must have good organizational skills with the ability to set work priorities and multi-task in the midst of multiple demands in an environment of regular interruption. Ability to treat personal information in a confidential manner. Ability to work independently as well as participate effectively as a member of a team. Ability to complete work with accuracy and attention to detail. May assist with opening mail and scanning documents. Demonstrate good working knowledge of Microsoft Suite programs (i.e., Word and Excel), have good keyboarding skills (data entry, and spread sheet development) and willing to learn all computer applications required by the area. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and experience dealing with confidential material is an asset. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to take an online privacy/ info-security training course. An equivalent combination of education, experience, skills, knowledge and abilities may be considered. Condition(s) of Employment: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Must be a full-time student. Full-time students are defined as students enrolled in the current academic year in a high school or at the University of Winnipeg in a full-time program of study as defined in the University of Winnipeg General Calendar.
