Culture Helper - Culture Program - 12 weeks
Salary Range
$20.00 per hour
Job summary
The Summer Student will support daily operations and community programs by assisting with a variety of tasks and activities. This role is ideal for someone reliable, flexible, and willing to learn in a hands-on environment.
Position duties
- Assist with community events, ceremonies, and activities
- Help with the setup and cleanup of community-owned buildings for cultural events
- Support general labour tasks, including hauling and delivering materials as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces and event areas
- Follow instructions and work collaboratively with team members
Terms and conditions of employment
- Preference will be given to members or residents of Sagamok Anishnawbek
- Valid driver’s license is an asset
- Must sign and comply with confidentiality requirements
- Must provide a Criminal Record Check prior to employment
Qualifications
- Must demonstrate enrollment as a full-time student in the previous academic semester school and be returning full time in the fall of 2026/2027 Academic school year.
- Must be eligible for Sagamok Anishnawbek ISETP program funding (member of Sagamok, valid SIN #)
- Must have, or be willing to obtain First Aid, WHIMIS, & Health and Safety in 4 Steps
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and email software
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision, and able to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends) and be self-motivated.
- Knowledge of and respect for Anishnawbek values, teachings, culture, and traditions is of critical importance.
