  • We are currently looking for Lifeguards to join our team of committed professionals.
  • This Full-time Summer Contract position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Rotary Camp Tillicum location in North Bay.
  • Under the leadership of the General Manager of Camping Services & Youth Leadership, and the Supervisor or Recreational Programming & Day Camps, and the Supervisor of Aquatics, the Lifeguard performs lifeguard duties in accordance with the National Lifesaving Society (NLS) standards and is responsible for delivering quality, values-based programming.
  • This job is also responsible for ensuring the safety of staff and participants while in the swim area.
  • START DATE: June 20, 2026 LOCATION: Rotary Camp Tillicum RATE OF PAY: Starting at 18.50/hour HOURS: Up to 40 hours per week What You'll Do: Ensure the safety of staff and campers during all waterfront activities (including swimming, canoeing, kayaking, etc.) Provide active supervision and enforce all waterfront safety procedures at all times Respond promptly and effectively to first aid situations and emergencies Inspect and maintain first aid and rescue equipment to ensure it is in safe working condition Monitor waterfront conditions (weather, water quality, visibility) and adjust supervision as needed Complete accurate incident reports for submission to the camp leadership team Maintain a clean, organized, and safe beach and waterfront area throughout the day and at closing Support and actively participate in camp programming as required Perform other duties as assigned to support overall camp operations Incorporate YMCA “Y Way” standards into all interactions and responsibilities Build positive relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization What You'll Bring: National Lifeguard certification (NL) in good standing National Lifeguard (Waterfront) considered an asset Basic understanding of waterfront operations Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong computer skills Excellent interpersonal skills Physically fit Current Standard First Aid and CPR C Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
