<h4><strong>Rankin School of Nursing, Faculty of Science</strong></h4> <h4><strong>Part-time Nurse Educators (2027 Winter Term) (N334)</strong></h4> <h4><strong>Faculty of Science</strong></h4> <p><strong>Description</strong></p> <p>The Rankin School of Nursing invites applications for a part-time Nurse Educator position to support two (2) clinical groups of N334 (each group three-credits) to commence January 4, 2027.&nbsp; This position is subject to final budgetary approval.</p> <p>The position responsibilities include clinical supervision of nursing students in our undergraduate nursing programs in a variety of healthcare settings, our simulation centre, and our nursing labs.

In addition, the Nurse Educators will contribute to academic and professional service within the school.&nbsp;</p> <p>To learn more about the Rankin School of Nursing visit our <a href="https://www.stfx.ca/department/nursing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a>.</p> <p><strong>Course Number and Title: NURS 334 &ndash; Integrated Nursing Roles &amp; Practices IV: Care of Persons Experiencing Complex Co-Morbidities and Chronic Health Challenges</strong></p> <p><strong>Course Start and End Dates:</strong>&nbsp;January 4 &ndash; April 6, 2027</p> <p><strong>Class Schedule:</strong> Clinical days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays.

Nurse Educators will support two clinical groups in the semester.

Specific detail related to dates and location to be determined.</p> <p><strong>Delivery Mode:&nbsp;</strong>In-person.

Locations include on-campus and in our partnering healthcare facilities (in North and East Nova Scotia).</p> <p>Nurse Educators support a range of experiential learning for students within the Rankin School of Nursing, including clinical placements, labs and simulations, while working closely with colleagues, clinical course leads, and faculty.

Expectations of the role include, but are not limited to, supporting student orientation to clinical settings, providing direct and indirect clinical supervision (depending on the clinical course assigned), delivering course content, administering and evaluating assignments, and assessing skill and competency of students throughout the program.

Nurse Educators are expected to participate in school meetings and hold regular office hours for students.</p> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <p>Candidates must have:</p> <ul> <li>Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses, as a Registered Nurse, without terms, limitations or conditions</li> <li>A baccalaureate degree in nursing</li> <li>A minimum of five years clinical experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing</li> <li>A demonstrated commitment to professional nursing and an ability to work collaboratively with others</li> <li>The requirements to attend clinical placements with students, including current health-care provider level CPR, completed immunizations, and a certified child abuse register and vulnerable sector check verification</li> </ul> <p>The preferred candidates will have a Master&rsquo;s degree in Nursing.
