Job Description

The RA provides early learning experiences that will stimulate and develop the children's intellectual, physical, and emotional growth. This includes ensuring compliance with licensing, program development, and implementation and orientation of new families.

Reporting to the Childcare Services Manager and Supervisor, the Summer Camp Leaders will provide the day-to-day operation and leadership of day camp alongside the Summer Camp Coordinator for up to 20 school-aged children. Children will range from ages five to twelve years of age with diverse abilities.

Certificates

  • Responsible Adult certification
  • Completion of and possession of valid First Aid/CPR
  • Clear Criminal Record Check required (Vulnerable Sector)
  • Valid Driver's License

  • Assist with planning, implementation, and evaluation of developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for children using modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating and reinforcing techniques.
  • Develops daily program schedules that include indoor/outdoor, active/quiet and individual and group activities
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and licensing requirements
  • Willingness to undertake continuing personal and professional development

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Guide and care for a group of children ages under 12 year of age
  • Encourage learning and develop positive self-concepts for children
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to SCHC and GSWC operations including its staff, children, families, and clients
  • Maintain positive and supportive relationships with parents and families
  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment for children
  • Ensure all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained
  • Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean environment
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate activities and experiences to meet individual and group needs of all children and families of a childcare program
  • Establish and maintain positive communication and relationships with children and staff
  • Assist in providing quality care and creative programming
  • Follow all company policies, licensing, and legal requirements.
  • Take part in all aspects of the program (e.g. crafts, group time, outdoor activities) and supervise children
  • Assist in the setup of the play environment
  • Housekeeping including kitchen duties and laundry
  • Participates in monthly fire and earthquake drills
  • Documentation of incidents
  • Uses preferred communication channels to share information with staff and parents
  • Record keeping (e.g. toileting, sleep time, food intake, etc.)
  • Follows opening and/or closing routines if scheduled
  • Reports maintenance issues to the Program Administrator
  • Other duties as requested by the Program Administrator

Contract length: Expected start date June 21, 2026 with expected end date being Sept 4, 2026

Pay

$20.00-$22.00 per hour
