- Reporting to the Writing Centre Coordinator, Peer Writing Tutors support NAIT students in developing strong academic writing skills through one‑on‑one appointments, group sessions, and drop‑in tutoring.
- Tutoring may occur virtually or in person at the NAIT Writing Centre.

Responsibilities
Support NAIT students from all program areas with understanding writing assignments. Help students plan and develop effective writing processes. Assist students with organizing ideas and developing arguments. Guide students in crafting clear thesis statements and topic sentences. Support students in integrating primary and secondary sources. Review various types of writing, including research papers, technical reports, and business communications, for clarity, flow, organization, and conciseness. Coach students in effective writing and self‑editing strategies. Discuss Canadian academic writing conventions and expectations with international and multilingual students. Visit classrooms and participate in outreach to promote Writing Centre services. Skills & Abilities: Writing, research, and communication skills. Ability to assess student tutoring needs. Ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
Qualifications
Successful completion of at least one semester at NAIT with a minimum GPA of 3.75. Must be a NAIT student enrolled in a program with a completion date no earlier than April 30, 2027. Tutoring experience of up to 12 months at a post-secondary learning/writing center is an asset. Experience working with ESL/EAL students is an asset. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Remuneration Refer to salary range noted on this posting. Plus 12% in lieu of stat holidays and vacation accrual.
