Little Readers Teacher/Tutor Wanted Are you all about alliteration? Love to learn about letters? Eager to help students succeed in learning to read? Gain valuable teaching experience. Oxford Learning Kerrisdale is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in this area. Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods. Position Requirements: Little Readers Teacher-Tutors would be available to work at Oxford Learning Kerrisdale 2-4 weekdays from 3:30pm-6:30pm and / or Saturday mornings 9:00am - 12:00pm. This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory. We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements: Education:

Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant fiel or university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered

Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum Experience:

Some experience teaching/tutoring at 1-5 grade level

Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding

Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time Responsibilities (Position Details): The Little Readers program is an enriched phonics program for children aged 3 – 6 that develops the foundational skills needed to learn and excel. Little Readers teachers use proprietary materials to teach students letter names, sounds, phonics, reading, comprehension, vocabulary, writing, and fine motor skills. You will work directly with our younger students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels

Teaching in-person

Maintaining a friendly and professional manner Smiles, High-Fives & Happy Students In this position, you will play a key role in helping students develop their self-confidence and self-esteem. Job Type: Part-time Salary: $21 / hour Schedule: - 2-4 weekdays (3:30pm - 6:30pm)
